Company History
Promotions in Motion is a creative studio specialising in the conceptualisation, design and build of bespoke animated retail windows, Christmas settings, Christmas decorations and 3D props. Established in 2001 based on a 40 year history of puppetry and set design, we are renowned for our signature string and mechanical animation, excellence in industrial design, and mastery of both traditional and digital media. We are proud to work with some of the worlds leading retailers and tourism operators with clients including David Jones, Smith and Caughey's, and Buderim Ginger.
We are a full-service agency offering design, fabrication, project management, marketing support, delivery, installation, removal, storage and maintenance from our 1600 square meter studio in Noosa Heads, Australia. We ship worldwide and offer purchase, rental and lease to buy contracts. We invite you to engage us for your next creative project.
Management
David Poulton
Founder and Artistic Director
David is intimately involved in all projects at Promotions in Motion. Under his direction, a dedicated team of artists, craftsmen, puppet makers, musicians and animators provide Promotions in Motion with a vast skill set which allows the company to meet any creative challenge.
David has worked as a professional puppeteer since 1968. David produced and directed over 20 theatrical productions including Blinky Bill, The Magic Pudding, Peter and the Wolf and Pinocchio, and has performed to over 8 million people.
David received a scholarship to study puppetry under Albrecht Roser, Master Puppeter, in the Figurentheaterschule Stuttgart, a school for puppetry at the Conservatory for Music and the Dramatic Art, Stuttgart, Germany.
Josh Mitchell

Manager
Josh is involved in every stage of a project, from concept design through to installation. In a previous life, he worked as a professional consulting engineer, design manager and project manager. As an experienced designer, Josh has an intimate knowledge of design techniques, materials, and fabrication methods. He is a chartered and registered professional engineer with a Masters degree in Project Management. Josh will guide every project from concept to completion.
Georgia Mitchell
Business Development Manager
Georgia grew up living and breathing the arts, and over the past decade has transformed her love for creative industries into a career. She has managed major events such as Vision Australia’s Carols by Candlelight, and has led teams to deliver events and marketing campaigns at The University of Queensland. Today, she works as a marketing manager, artist and animator at Promotions in Motion.
Georgia holds a Graduate Certificate (Integrated Marketing Communication) from Queensland University of Technology and a Bachelor of Business (Event Management) and a Bachelor of Arts (Spanish and German) from The University of Queensland.
